Last Sunday, at the School of Arts and Crafts F. Ricchino in Rovato (BS), I taught some friends how to sharpen western saws.
It was a wonderful day spent breathing iron filings, in which I believe I have converted many faithful of the eastern church to return to the western one.
In the final pages of this thread on Legnofilia forum, you can see some pictures of the meeting, but I would like to show you some extra details.
An antique vise to sharpen frame saw blades that my friend Christian gave me.
And finally, these are the handles/guides that I use with needle files, plus the additional jig that I use to adjust them.
I'd love to see a few more pictures of the needle file handles is use.

The functioning is identical to the system of the piece of wood on the tip of the file. To keep a constant rake.
DeleteUsually you insert, at an angle, the tip of the file in a small piece of wood and you it keep it horizontal.
In this case the handle acts as the piece of wood and you have to keep it horizontal.
I will write another post with more pics to explain me better.
Anyway thanks for the question, Mike.
